Chilham Perrywood Mount circular walk.

Coffee break in the pouring rain(still-we were happy)

We met up at Chilham Car park and set off across the A252 or whatever it's called.
It was raining ,on and off,and we climbed the hill which was covered in apple orchards.
Very muddy,so we varied the route a little. At Stone Stile farm we continued and then crossed into the woods, which were very slippery.Interesting,as I'd never been here before, and had to concentrate on map reading.Soon we were heading up to the mount,a hard uphill non-stop slog, good aerobic exercise. At the viewing point, there was a platform and a couple of table thingys,so wes stopped for coffee in the rain.Down the hill and through Shottenden and on to a long road/bridleway.Very pleasant despite the rain ,and worth another visit in bluebell time.A group of 3 Llamas in a field looking a bit perplexed at all the noise (see pictures)then across the main road and up the steep track into the Kings Wood, and then along the familiar North Downs Way back into Chilham village.
A nice walk,hard going,6 of us, 7 miles, 9C,rainy.
I'm pooped.
