EAST MALLING TO MAIDSTONE

We RV'd @ East Malling Research, the home of 75%of all the worlds cultivated apple trees.Setting off past Ditton Lab,through the woods to Gallaghers quarry and crossing Hermitage lane and down the footpath to Allington .Down Castle way and on to the Allington lock.A dull rainy, and coldish grey day,we walked along the towpath past all the moored craft, stopping briefly in the rain for our coffee, then continuing to the high level bridge and then down Week street (roman road)to the bus stop where we waited for the 101 bus until it was pointed out that the 72 was the one we wanted (senile decay?)So we boarded and got off at Wealden Hall and then back through the research station.

7 miles 5 chaps rainy 5C
You can judge how dull the weather is by this pic

A nice example of Barge Painting

  1. Glad to have been part of the experience - photo finish on my blog, blurred as I explained because of the sprint you put on over the last 10 yds.
