Charing, Lenham, Little Stour

Meeting at Lenham Village square,we sniffed-out an open eatery and had bacon/sauasage rolls and tea.The nice shiny double deck bus arrived on time, a departure for Stagecoach,as the bus was only 5 years old and not a London Transport reject from the last century.A very fast ride to Charing village where we started the walk along various, little used footpaths following the river valley(a stream really)A few navigational errors caused a little excitement.esp when a resident came out to find why we were trespassing in his front yard,he was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction. It was very hot at the half way mark and humid, after a cool start. We did 8 miles and there were 7 of us.

OK Glen, this is your reward for checking out the blog regularly.

The sand quarry at Lenham, the SandMartins being absent as they were evicted.

See Advert below

Burnt Mill where I Ied the others into an illegal act.

You can see the Stour Valley Footpah logo (B + W)on the post,a constant source of frustration is the absence or neglect of markers.

This is "doing a Doolittle"with little success

Quintessentially English and an indicator that the pub is close for that "Ice cold in Alex "moment
AND there was a TV satellite dish on the weathervane, I kid you not.
