Pluckley Circular walk

Seven of us met outside the Blackhorse Pub Pluckley , claimed to be the most haunted house in England on a nice September morning . Across the main road and onto the public footpath . This afforded glorious views to the south and well worth the walk alone . We followed this hilly walk to Egerton village where we stopped at St Marys Church Egerton for a drink and snack . After this rest we set off across various fields and footpaths to Little Chart here we stopped at the ruins of Little Chart Old Church that was destroyed by a V1 in 1944. Onwards through the local orchards where the farmers we getting ready to pick the apples back to Pluckley for a well earned ice cream . A walk designed and led bu Terry about 8 miles , according to him

Lenham

On a slightly chilly morning but with the sun bright in the sky 6 of us met up at Lenham car park. Then across the square resisting the temptations of a cake shop we walked through the grounds of the church and headed on a footpath to East Lenham . This was a walk that was mainly new to us and based on a really good book of local walks . Past East Lenham on through Mount Castle Farn and Lenham Heath . This was a really lovely walk past a few ponds of various sizes . Then after a walk in a disused pit now back in its natural state we picked up the Stour Valley Walk , this led via the local sewage works back into Lenham . Here we purchased the well earned ice cream . About 5 miles
