With the morning starting with a really deep frost six of us met up at Bearsted where we were treated with tea and sausage rolls,a small miracle that the mains gas supply was working as the contractors had discovered (via CCTV)a dead (obviously)rabbit up the 8" main, which had been there for 40 years. Suitably refreshed we set off walking through a beautiful Mote Park with its rainbow of colours . The mist on the lake made a magical setting .
On through Maidstone town to the side of the river Medway , Following this we basically enjoyed the riverside walk to Allington where we cut across country to the A229 where we caught a bus to Maidstone .
Here we got off the bus and walked back through Mote Park to Bearsted Shortish walk of only 6 miles but brilliant weather and views

The Bothy Nursery Garden now a retirement estate
