North Downs Way bike Ride

We met Funfzig Deutchlanders on bike coming the other way who were not Links Fahren(ing)

The map's out,a bad sign

Typical of the North Downs way

A lovely cafe where, despite not having bacon sandwiches on the menu, they did us an Egg and Ham sandwich and a pot of tea.
East Malling to Charing by train, stopping at B/Stead and alighting at Charing.Breakfast in the Village and then up the great big hill to the NDW.A hot day a bit tiring ,very bumpy but exciting and dangerous.
We stopped at the Dirty Habit for a half pint and a bag of crisps, then down to B/Sted station for the train back to EM.3 of us ,20 miles with all the fiddly bits.
This video should lift your spirits.

Broadstairs

No walk was planned this week so a family get together was arranged at Broadstairs but as it was such a lovely day I just took a few photos to post
We met at Gordon two sheds abode and after a lovely cuppa we walked from the centre of Broadstairs towards Margate walking as close to the top of the cliffs as we could .
Past the famous 39 steps to Joss Bay , along side golf course to Kingsgate on onto the next bay . Here as it was midday and very hot we simply turned round and retraced our steps . This called for a stop for lunch at The Captain Digby ( Aussie Wendy do you remember this  ) paid for by our eldest member then back to the starting point for a much needed cold drink and slice of home made cake

HUCKING WOODLAND TRUST

Starting grey, both meteorologically and transport wise. They closed Hollingbourne to resurface the road and were short of some Road Closed signs ,so just carried on,along all the back lanes.
When we got to the RV (only 5 minutes late)we set off into the woods and the sun eventually came out
and when we passed the Hook and Hatchet pub and popped in for a half,no crisps,no coffee, etc etc.
usual story,pub looking to fail.
Back to the cars and a tentative search for a road open to civilisation.

The previously posted video was "pilot error"frightfully sorry.
