After the walks for the last two weeks were called of due to bad weather we were determined to get out this week albeit on a Tuesday rather than a Wed , that was to fool the weather
Six of us met up at the car park by Doddington Church on a cloudy but warm morning , we set off past the side of Doddington Church into Sharsted woods then when we got to Sharsted Court we took the path to the left carrying on through the woods now in glorious colour . Finally we came to St Catherine Church at Kingsdown where we stopped for a good look round and a snack break . Following the road some of the way we came to Chequers Hill then onto Doddington we stopped at a great garden centre (Stanford Nurseries)  tea room where we had tea and cake . The fruit cake I had was some of the best I have ever eaten well worth another visit . Finally we took the short footpath back to the cars . It was here we remember we had not collected any chestnuts for the lovely Ruth so it was back through Sharsted woods to collect chestnuts . Around 7.9 miles and very enjoyable Next week Charing
