Only five of us this week met up at the Car Park next to Hampton Pier, East of Herne Bay, on a rather overcast day .
We set up east following the path that in turn follows the sea shore , Despite the chilly start to the day there were a lot of people out and about walking their dogs, or simply enjoying the sea air .
This path leads passed a mobile home camp then loads of beach huts some needing a dash of paint . Eventually we arrived at Whitstable and its working harbour , this is always my favourite part of this walk with the fishing boats and various working boats . After stopping for a coffee some of the walkers had to search out a local butchers that sold meat pies .
Suitably refreshed we simply we retraced out steps but by this time the sun had come out and we all got rather too warm 8 plus miles in all

Minster and Reculver

although there have been a couple of "official" walks over the last few weeks unfortunately I have not been able to go along . Therefore no photos or write ups
This is a very poor substitute , first a short 3 mile walk or stroll on Sun 13th March at Minster but very cold and overcast
Then today a more respectable 7 plus miles from Herne Bay to Reculver , this was not a planned walk but two of us had a small job to do in Herne Bay and when that was finished we made use of the rest of the day by walking from Herne Bay to Reculver . This was against a strong cold East wind Luckily the café was open so we forced ourselves to stop for a drink and lovely hot sausage sarnie Then strolled back to Herne bay
