Sandwich

luckily the mist cleared as four of us met up on the sea front on the North edge of Deal .We simply took the coastal path and headed along the edge of the golf course in the direction of Sandwich  By now the sun was out and it was like a summers day . After about 2 miles we cut in land to the RSPB centre where we were made very welcome and stopped for a tea break . After a chat about which route to take , the long or the short one and being brave and senile we chose the long one . This took us along the road to the outskirts of Sandwhich the following the river we headed back to the coast and then to the start point About 10.5 miles

Pluckley

This week 6 of us met up outside The Black Horse Pub at Pluckley , this is reputed to be the most haunted pub in England , it was also featured in the TV series The Darling Buds Of May
We ignored the temptation for a stop but instead headed to the back of the local church and pub and headed across country to Little Chart we passed a few orchards with apples on the trees but resisted trying the apples . We stopped at St Marys Church that was destroyed in WW2 , simply for a brief coffee or tea . Then simply with good map reading by our leader, assisted by Lea , we found a circular route back to the cars Only 6.8 miles on a dry but overcast day

Herne Bay to Whitstable

Six old codgers this week with most of us suffering some ache or pain so this was planned  as a stroll with no hills
Bright but breezy we met at Hampton Pier on the edge of Herne Bay we basically headed West following the sea towards and into Whitstable
He we stopped for a cuppa then slowly strolled back watching the wind urfers struggling with the high winds
