Lenham

This is the first walk I have joined for sometime and unfortunately the blog has not been kept up  On a lovely sunny June day 5 of us met at the car park in Lenham and proceeded  on a 6.5 mile circular walk taking about 3 1/2hrs slow walking At the finish we were treated to cakes or sausage rolls by Mr GP As you know I have no idea where we went so our leader will e mail that to me soon and I will add it here
Here is our leaders description of the route
From car park in Lenham go through church grounds and exit into an open field taking the left hand track following path signs to East Lenham. From here turn right along a concrete track taking you over a railway bridge until you reach a stile and path sign on your left, cross over the stile and go diagonally across field, crossing another stile and diagonally across corn field again to stile into Mount Castle Farm. From here cross stile into corn field and follow path diagonally until you reach Bull Hill Lane, turn right along lane for about 25yards then cross stile on your left into disused sand pit, stop here for coffee break. Follow track out of pit onto Lenham Heath Road, turning left and go for about 300yards and then turn right up a track next to an old Chapel and do a circular route following path signs through Marshall Farm and back onto Lenham Heath Road. Turn left and go for about 1mile along road then turn right onto concrete track at Chapel Farm and follow this track skirting around Sewage Works taking right hand path across field to tunnel under railway line. Go under tunnel and follow path diagonally across fields back to church at Lenham.

There should be a footpath here

Someone in the group wanted a photo of poly tunnels in the distance

Photo does not show the magical view of the sun through the trees

No Sand Martins this year apparently nest destroyed by local idiots

We thought this was a bus stop

Glasshouse passed its glory days
